Old school vidder in the house! Or not. I’ve no clue, as I’m new to this whole ‘vidding’ thing. What I do know is that this video isn’t quite like most of the ones I rec. I like the shiny, the fast, the ‘slidey’ special effects laden acid trip vids. This- isn’t. It gets me in the heart, not the gut. That’s a good thing! I’d say this video is the definitive ‘I Spy’ vid. OK, it’s also the only one I’ve seen, but I’m pretty sure it would be THE definitive vid regardless. Everything about this vid exemplifies what I loved about that show. It really gets at the bond between Scotty and Kelly. The song, which has the potential to be really cheesey, WORKS- and it works on both a slashy and non-slashy level. The clip choices were perfect- I got all nostalgic watching them (3 of my favorite episodes figure prominantly- and they were my favs because of their emphasis on the bond between Scott and Kelly- and angsty h/c). The source material is excellent, the editing is very, very clean and tight, and the video as a whole just sums up why this was one of my favorite series when I was a kid. If you haven’t seen the show, you should check out the vid to find out what you missed. If you DID love the show, this video is a required trip down memory lane.
