Found this from an Isis rec, which are always a safe bet. It’s different and I very much like it. Just a short little story about Mr. Potter, who seems to be a very normal man living his very normal life. A boring life, really. Except for the owls, which keep flocking around his house, and the strange men who seem to lurk around corners or at the local market. Mr. Potter’s therapist wants to know how this makes him feel. It makes him feel as if he’s going mad.
Hee! This is a subversive little vignette. It’s best read ‘cold’, but knowing it’s a post-war fic defintely helps you piece things together. I like stories that make you fill in the blanks and this has a surreal edge to it that appealed. Not enough of a full blown story for me to actually rec, but I’d definitely say it’s a ‘must read’. Well written and interesting.
