Cute, short, funny future fic in which Clark is a big dumbass. In other words, it’s pretty close to canon. It starts with Lex about to get married (told you it was close to canon) and Clark is jealous (ibid) and then Lex’s fiance goes to see Clark because she thinks they should be friends and Clark thinks she has shiny hair and should die. Snerk. Good characterizations of Lex, Clark and Lois, and I dug the little hints of darkness that crop up amidst the humor. I also like the style, the short little scenes that flit back and forth through time, and the insights into Clark’s thought processes. While there’s nothing really new to it, the story has a lot of panache. Cool fic, worth the 10 minutes it will take to read. I laughed out loud more than once.
He suddenly noticed there were dirty plates on the sideboard, he’d created a small mountain of shoes by the window, and there was a wet towel hanging over the back of his computer chair.
Clark wondered if she would notice if he just… superspeeded and tidied up.
“Um. Please. Take a seat.” He praised his mother. Because without her, he would have had the Kent manners of How to Grunt and Moralize.
