A fairly short, Giles focused story that examines what the Watcher is willing to sacrifice in order to save his charge. When Buffy is captured by demons, the only one who can save her is one of the undead. Angelus doesn’t want Buffy dead, he wants her to suffer. So it is to Angelus Giles goes. This is a dark little fic told with a curiously detached air (partly due to the first person POV). I liked it- it appeals to my love of Giles torture.
